How to use the USB token in SecSigner

Download and install SecSigner

  1. Download the SecSigner tool from the SecCommerce website: SecCommerce - Download SecSigner & SecSign ID
  1. Install the tool by following the instructions

Preparing the file

  1. Open SecSigner, add the file and select the desired signature format.

Connect the USB token

  1. Plug your USB token into the computer.
  2. Click „Signaturkarte suchen“, so that the tool can find the USB token.

  3. Scan the modules

    1. Error messages often occur until the tool has scanned all the modules.



    2. Click on the blue arrow several times until the correct module (e.g. Safenet module) is displayed.



    3. After a few attempts, your USB token will be displayed. Click "weiter".

Signature settings

  1. Here you can change some settings for your signature, such as visibility, position and comments, and customise the appearance of your signature.


PIN entry (USB token password)

  1. Enter your token PIN in the appropriate field.
  2. Click „Weiter“.


Sign the file

  1. Click „Bestätigen“ to generate the signature.


  1. The signed file will be saved in the same folder as the original file.
